Setting up Sibelius Part 3

Welcome to Setting Up Sibelius Part 3! know how to add Time Signatures and Titles, Key Signatures and how to add notes using 3 different techniques.

Today we’ll look at a 4th way…Playing the notes in with a Mid Keyboard!

Once you’ve set up your keyboard you’ll have a couple of options on how to use it!

You can choose to input the notes onto your stave in a stepped sequence!..this is ideal. if your rubbish at playing the piano!…like I am!

The other way is to play the notes into your score directly in Record mode.

I’ll show you both ways!

There is quite a lot to go over in this session, but by the end of it, you’ll be flying around your score!

Input Devices

I’ll show you how to set up your keyboard so Sibelius can recognise that it’s connected to your computer

You’ll delve into the ‘Input Devices’ section, and learn how to make sure it works.

Perhaps the most important element of this section is setting up your keyboard so there is no latency.

I’ll guide you through the Calibration process, so once it’s’ll be good to go!


Then we’ll take a detailed look at the note entry, by showing you the Step Sequence option, and playing the notes live!

After this session…you’ll have no worries about playing the notes straight into your score!
