Taking a look at the Sibelius Inbuilt sounds!

Today what I thought we’d do is take a quick look at the inbuilt Classical Guitar instrument that comes included as standard, with Sibelius inbuilt sounds.

Loads of people (myself included!) bang on about upgrading the sounds that come with Sibelius, as its a widely excepted view that the ones Sibelius supply aren’t very good, but I have to say that’s not always the case, and some, as this Classical Guitar piece shows are really quite good.

I love the Classical guitar, it’s my main instrument and I’ve played it to a reasonable standard for years. I owned a shop dedicated to it ‘Baroque and Roll’ and have played a lot of guitars by different makers, and this included Sibelius sample is really quite convincing, especially at lower dynamics, for free stoke notes as well as harmonics.

In the video below, we’ll take a quick look at how I’ve set up the score and the reverb I used for the score playback.

I’d love to know what you think are Sibelius best-inbuilt sounds, so why not let me know in the comment section below, and perhaps I’ll do a blog post putting together a tune with your favourites!
