‘On Soudley Ponds’
For some time now I’ve used a tune I wrote a while ago ‘On Soudley Ponds’ as a demonstration score, showcasing the playback of different sample libraries, straight out of Sibelius Ultimate without any tweaking whatsoever.
I’ve been asked if I can provide MP3’s of the tune so people can compare the different samples more easily, and I have listed every version here for you to download in MP3 format.
Soudley Ponds are found very close to the village of Soudley, snuggled in the beautiful countryside of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. I’m very lucky to live here.
The area comprises four ponds linked together surrounded by the tallest Douglas Fir trees I think I have ever seen.
I have to say, that the place is stunning, no matter what the weather. You can walk all round the ponds, taking in the scenery and enjoy the wildlife that lives there as it’s a site of special scientific interest and is now in the care of the Forestry Commission.
I highly recommend a visit, and just across the road is the Dean Heritage Centre, a lovely museum dedicated to the Forest of Dean, that has a wonderful little cafe! Have a lovely walk, then pop in for tea and cake..a perfect day out!
For each example, the music is exported directly from Sibelius and available as is, no additional EQ..Reverb..or editing or effects have been applied in a DAW..it’s how it sounds directly from the score.
If your stuck on anything Sibelius related, theres a tonne of information on the site now either in the blogs or courses sections, and if you need any further help, don’t hesitate to contact me directly, or perhaps book a one-to one as it’s a great way of me showing you exactly what you need to do get up and running!
